Why now

Verified business identity is becoming infrastructure. These are the dates.

Four regulatory shifts inside twenty-four months. Every business operating in the UK or EU will need verified business information that meets the standard. Co.ID is being built to it.

DEC 2025 · STATUTORY

UK DIATF

The UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework becomes statutory under the Data (Use and Access) Act. A certified register for digital verification services.

2026 · IN FLIGHT

Companies House reform

ECCTA requires verified identities for every director and PSC. Six to seven million existing records to re-verify. Co.ID is the SME-side answer.

DEC 2026 · MANDATORY

eIDAS 2.0

EU Digital Identity Wallet mandatory across every member state. One wallet, every jurisdiction.

NOV 2027 · REQUIRED

Bank acceptance

Banks and payment firms must accept wallet-based verification. Verified business information moves from optional to mandatory in every onboarding.

Leadership

Who’s building this.

Cindy van Niekerk

Founder & CEO

Cindy is a member of the CFIT Digital Verification Taskforce and a founding board member of Ayra. She founded Umazi to remove the repeated, opaque cost of business verification — turning it from an obstacle into an asset that compounds for every business that holds one.

The business of due diligence costs financial institutions £1 trillion a year. For the SME, that means waiting three to six months to open a bank account. Co.ID shortens that process. Trust should never be the barrier. It should be the bridge.
